The fun continues.
The University of Louisville Athletic Associated filed a countersuit against former Louisville men’s basketball coach Rick Pitino on Wednesday.
The countersuit requests that Pitino repay all losses that may result from U of L’s current issues with the NCAA. That includes the losses of records, championships, and bonuses that the school could be forced to give back if the NCAA’s initial ruling is upheld.
In the countersuit, U of L notes that during an interview with Jay Bilas in October, Pitino said he “took full responsibility” for the hiring mistakes that resulted in Louisville’s subsequent issues with the NCAA.
You can read the full suit here.
I would also like to announce that Card Chronicle is suing old Crawford Gymnasium. I realize that it’s not around anymore and that such a suit isn’t even possible, but it still feels like the right thing to do at this moment.
I look forward to more Discovery and more embarrassment.
