Louisville interim athletic director Vince Tyra met with the media Wednesday to discuss what is now an active search for the new U of L men’s basketball coach.
A very brief recap:
—Tyra spoke glowingly about David Padgett and the job he did.
—He talked with the players before the press conference and said they were very intrigued, especially by the timing aspect.
—Made a passing reference to the search taking “a week to 10 days.”
—Said high-profile coaches are definitely interested, and that they’re looking for an elite coach.
—U of L’s athletic budget is $100 million plus, so they will have the funds to lure a top tier coach.
