Wake Forest landed a Georgia linebacker on Monday afternoon, as Jeffery Burley will be joining the 2017 recruiting class for the Demon Deacons.
Burley is a 6-foot-2, 210-pound linebacker from Jackson High School in Georgia.
He announced it over social media Monday afternoon, saying:
"First off I would like to thank God for blessing me with the talent and ability to play this game at a high level. I would like to start by thanking my coaches for building me into the man I am today. I would like to thank my awesome teammates for being by my side through it all. I would like to thank my family for helping me make this great decision. I would like to thank the great coaches at Wake fore everything and making me and my family feel at home every step of the way. I will completely be closing my recruitment. I'm extremely blessed and proud to say I have committed to Wake Forest University."
Burley is the 12th commitment for the Demon Deacons in 2017 and he chose Wake Forest over programs like Louisville, Minnesota, Miss State, Illinois, Southern Miss, UCF, and NC State.
He is the third linebacker to commit to Wake Forest for 2017, joining Jamal Riggins and D.J. Taylor.
