Ajak is the second commitment for Syracuse in the class of 2019.
The Syracuse Orange men’s basketball program just picked up another recruit in the class of 2019 today as John Bol Ajak announced his commitment to SU, per Pat Lawless. Ajak joins Brycen Goodine as the second recruit in Syracuse’s 2019 class.

Ajak is a 6-foot-10 center who plays his high school ball just outside of Philadelphia. He just visited Syracuse last weekend and was scheduled to visit VCU this weekend and Pittsburgh the next before committing to Syracuse.
He ultimately turned down offers from the two aforementioned schools, UConn, Georgetown, Seton Hall, Wake Forest and Villanova. He’ll be part of what figures to be a big incoming Syracuse recruiting class next year.
You won’t find the big man from Sudan ranked in the top-100 on any of the scouting sites, but this could be an important get for the Orange given that Paschal Chukwu might depart from Syracuse after this year, leaving just one true center on the roster in Bourama Sidibe in 2019, should he so choose to return.
