ESPN has come to the conclusion of its annual "25 best football players in the ACC" countdown, and a Cardinal has made the final post.
After Lamar Jackson had previously made the countdown at No. 9, Devonte Fields checks in as the 5th-best player in the conference according to the worldwide leader.
5. Louisville linebacker Devonte Fields
Fields led the Cardinals in sacks (11) and led the nation in tackles for loss per game (1.73) in his first season with Louisville. But it was Fields' late-season surge -- when he had 8.5 sacks and 13 TFLs over the final four games -- that makes him as dangerous as anyone on the defensive side of the ball in the ACC.
Fields is bettered on the list by Florida State safety Derwin James, Miami quarterback Brad Kaaya, FSU running back Dalvin Cook and, of course, Clemson quarterback DeShaun Watson.
