The preseason ranking is the fifth-highest in U of L history.
Louisville will begin the 2017 college football season as the No. 17 team in the Amway Coaches Poll. The Cards are just five points behind No. 16 Florida in the poll, and a whopping 204 points ahead of ACC-brethren and 18th-ranked Miami.
Joining the Cardinals and Hurricanes as members of the ACC in the poll are No. 3 Florida State, No. 5 Clemson, and No. 22 Virginia Tech. Pittsburgh (45), NC State (39), Georgia Tech (10), North Carolina (8) and Syracuse (3) also received votes.
