The Hokies secured a nice piece for their 2017 recruiting class in this tight end from Georgia.
Lecitus Smith, a 6-foot-4, 255-pound tight end from Fitzgerald High School in Georgia announced on Wednesday that he is heading to Blacksburg and committing to the Hokies
Smith held over 16 total offers, including ones from Arkansas, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Florida Atlantic, Georgia Southern, Oklahoma State, Louisville, NC State, Troy, Tulane, USF, and Western Kentucky.
Over social media on Wednesday, Smith said:
“I am sooo happy and blessed to say that I have committed to Virginia Tech!!!!! #GoHokies”
Smith is just one of several weapons the Hokies have secured for 2017 on offense, as he will be joining players such as quarterback Hendon Hooker, tight end Drake Deiuliis, wide receiver Hezekiah Grimsley, and wide receiver Kalil Pimpleton.
Smith is also the 11th commitment for Virginia Tech for their 2017 recruiting class.
