Syracuse annihilated Wake Forest in today's contest on big performances from Trevor Cooney and Tyler Roberson.
On Friday night Syracuse traveled to Winston Salem to take on Wake Forest today at noon. The Orange got out to a big lead and never looked back for the rest of the contest, winning 83-54.
The team came out firing on cylinders, particularly Trevor Cooney. He knocked down his first four shots including three three-pointers. He finished the half with 21 points and Syracuse went into the break with a 47-27 lead over the Demon Deacons. If you asked Jim Boeheim, he was more impressed with the defense.
Boeheim: "This is the best defense we've played this year. We were really active on defense and that gets offense going and we hit some 3s."

Over the course of the second half the pace of the game slowed -- there were 46 fouls called and 67 free throws taken in the contest.
Tyler Roberson battled foul trouble in the game but had a strong showing by finishing with a double-double. Plugged in Robie had 16 points and 13 rebounds. Chinonso Obokoh was inserted into the game -- with Syracuse's front court accumulating fouls -- and provided solid minutes. He had 3 rebounds, a steal and a block and forced two turnovers -- one time drawing a charge.
Frank Howard got in on the party as well by knocking down his first three of the year. He finished with 5 points and an assist. Cooney finished with 25 points while Michael Gbinije had 15 points on four dunks.
Syracuse had one of its better defensive performances of the year by forcing Wake into 18 turnovers and 10 percent shooting from beyond the arc.
