Syracuse doesn't go the alt-uniform route a ton, but these aren't half-bad.
When the Syracuse Orange take the floor against the Virginia Tech Hokies tonight at the Carrier Dome, you may notice something different. Ends up the team will be wearing alternate uniforms tonight, as they announced via Twitter just a short while ago.
Rather than the typical white home duds with "ORANGE" splayed across the front, they'll be going with the shorthand "'CUSE" instead. Thick, dashed orange piping previously only seen on the shorts in this set, also come up both sides of the jersey top too. The set is predominantly white and orange, while still including those pesky PLATINUM elements we've all grown used to. No blue to be found here, as has been the case for Syracuse basketball for quite awhile now, sadly.
The last time Syracuse trotted out some alternate uniforms (a tact Jim Boeheim usually won't embrace unless forced to), they proceeded to lose for the first time in 25 games... against a hapless Boston College team in 2013-14.
So if we win, expect to see these a little bit more often either this year or next. If the Orange lose, you'll probably never see them again on the court -- or in any team store, because you know these won't be sold anyway, even if fans love them.
