Tar Heels sophomore guard Seventh Woods has been working on his game this summer.
In what will be a loaded backcourt this upcoming season, playing time will come to who works the hardest, and that is exactly what Seventh Woods has been doing.
The guard is entering his sophomore season with the Tar Heels, coming off a year where he saw some significant playing time backing up Joel Berry and Nate Britt.
Now he’s working even harder.
He posted this video on his Instagram account of his workout with trainer Marseilles Brown in Columbia, S.C.
Woods, who averaged 1.5 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in only 7.7 minutes this past year, was never fully healthy and seemingly played spot minutes for Joel Berry throughout the season.
Known for his athleticism, a full summer to regain his health and confidence will do wonders for the 6-foot-2 combo guard.
For many, the name Seventh Woods and YouTube have been connected for many years now. At the young age of 14, his game was showcased all over the internet. Recently, his high school mixtape was ranked third best high school mixtape ever by Slam Magazine.
With that comes a lot of hype and expectations, and some my say he is already a bust.
But for those who actually follow basketball, they know that ALL Carolina point guards have their struggles in their first year in Chapel Hill.
It’s not easy playing behind one of the best point guards in Carolina history on a team going to back-to-back National Championship games, but Woods has taken on his role very humbly.
The only real backup point guard option for next year, Woods will see his minutes increase with the graduation of Nate Britt. Though Woods will not play a huge role, he will be a constant contributor for the Heels.
