Bobby Petrino met with the media briefly following practice Monday night and provided them with, among other things, an update on his quarterback situation.
Will Gardner, who sat out all of last week after suffering a knee injury in the third quarter of Louisville's win over Florida International, practiced in full pads on Monday, but he did not participate in full team drills.
"He was out there today," Petrino said. "He did some individual work. We have to see how the knee responds to that and what happens tonight, then he has an appointment tomorrow morning with the doctor. So we'll see where it goes from there. I'm unsure right now what his status will be."
Petrino was later asked whether or not Garnder would be the guy at quarterback if his knee is healthy enough to play Friday night at Syracuse.
"I think we have to wait and see, see how healthy he is," Petrino said.
Perhaps will know something one way or the other on Tuesday, or perhaps we're in for another week of quarterback update fun. Either way, this figures to be interesting.
